PKD, the Unicorn, and Soviet Psychotronics

I couldn’t find a used copy at Powells for the other one, I’m afraid.
The oldest and most obscure weblog. Probably. Lovingly maintained and neglected by Shawn Kilburn.

Hey there mister; I know we’ve probably had this discusservation in some way before on here, or maybe i’m even wrong as my head doesn’t feel to be entirely attached to my motor skills recently, but at any rates here’s the what I’m asking: Seeing as how I’ve never read a one PK Dick thingy, and everytimes I hears about his whozzits and what’s-he-says and this-movie-based-ons and alla that I think I should very much like to. Problem then is that my usual method for getting into someone’s writings doesn’t work, as the used bookstore just never, ever, ever has any single work, and that’s the thing I do: go grab whatever they have and read it. So that leaves me with the buy-something-from-somewhere-regular, like amazon, and that leaves me with how-do-i-pick?
I followed yer link to the big buncha pkdick webpage, but got instantly daunted cuz there’s just so much. So here’s your chance to mold and shape my mouldy and shapeless headthing: what should I start with? Probably a novel, as opposed to a collection of stories, would be cool for me, though maybe even the other, or one of each, or whatever. If you’ve got a strong or half-strong or semi-rigid opinion about this, post a posty here or at my thing. You could put a link to amazon from yer site and I’ll go there from there and buy a buy buy. I’m determined, it’s time I.. i… do whatever it is I’m saying.
It’s amazing just now to my own self how exactly disconnected my self-regulator seems to have gotten itself.
Hey, thankee sir. I just ordered. I’d rather read that one than the one you couldn’t find anyway, because I have a weirdness about books that are also movies. In a weird way that I’d go into if I were going to go into it. At any rate I’d rather start with something I don’t know much about, so this sounds like a good thing. Thanks
