I seem to recall my hair doing that when I was a kid.

Amelia Gray’s Museum of the Weird
Today, Max described autumn as the time when the trees’ hair falls out. So lovely!
Magic
It’s the little things:
Like Max running past me down the hall, stopping, and then running back to give me a hug.
Or walking into Alice’s school to pick her up and hearing her laughing from the other room.
Alice the Director
Tonight, as we were putting the kids to bed, Alice decisively left the room, shutting the door. She immediately came back in, saying: “I am the King of Yumminess! No more laughing!” Then she left the room, and repeated several times. Each time, with a different delivery, and instructions for our response, like an actor riffing on lines and a director giving notes to actors.
It got so that she had all of us leaving the room and coming in again with variations on the King of Yumminess. (King, Queen, Prince, etc.) Needless to say, we were all laughing a lot.

The Countdown
It’s getting to that point in Seattle where it’s feeling like anytime we do something it’s the last time we’ll do that thing.
I’ll miss the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, that’s for sure!
